The Department of Journalism Studies, University of Sheffield, UK invites applications from outstanding individuals who wants to obtain a degree program in Journalism.

This scholarship program is worth £10,000 and will be provided to successful applicants.
The scholarships are for students who meet at least one of our widening participation criteria or achieve a first in their undergraduate degree. If your application is successful you can use the scholarship towards fees or living expenses – the choice is yours.
This is a fantastic opportunity for students on MA Broadcast Journalism or MA Journalism to be mentored by one of the country's leading sports journalists and broadcasters. Dan Walker studied on the Broadcast course in 1998-99 and also completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Sheffield. He presents Football Focus each weekend and BBC Breakfast as well as a weekly show on BBC World. He has travelled the world covering numerous events including the Olympic Games, World Cups, European Championships, the Grand National, Six Nations, Wimbledon and The Open Championship golf.
The scholarship will include periods of work experience in journalism and production, and advice from Dan as you go through the course and prepare for a career.

The application deadline is Monday 25 September 2018.
